What we collect

When you register and pay: Stripe collects your name, school email, school, your school's province or territory and your year of study, plus a referral code if you used a referral link. Stripe processes your payment; we see that you paid and the amount, but never your card number.
When you submit: your demo video link, code repository link, stack and decision log.

Why we collect it

To run the Open: verify your eligibility, send you the brief, judge your entry and publish results.
To show results: your name, school, province and rank appear on public leaderboards and your Builder Card.
To email you about future Opens, only if you agree to it.
To share your profile and results with partner companies, only if you agree to it. We'll ask before sharing anything.

Who we share it with

Stripe, which runs registration and payment.
Our email provider, to send you messages.
Our hosting provider, Google Cloud, which stores the site.
Partner companies, only if you opted in.

We don't sell your information.

How long we keep it

We keep registration and results records for [period] so that your Builder Rating and results stay verifiable. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; your published rank may remain as an anonymized entry.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent for emails or partner sharing, by writing to askdeadlock@gmail.com. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
